Rustic Door Knobs on Covered Rose
Three styles of “distressed antique brass” door knobs on covered roses (this is a rose/plate which covers the screws, so no fixings can be seen). From left to right, these are:
- CR 4205-44 Teardrop Door Knob on Covered Rose
- CR 6400-COV Bun Knob on Covered Rose
- CR 1756-COV Ball Knob on Covered Rose
A covered rose is usually used on modern knobs, as they have a “cleaner” appearance, with no visible screws -traditionally screws were visible on all door knobs. By having a covered rose on knobs in this type of finish, it gives a contemporary twist to these rustic knobs.
Like standard antique brass, the distressed antique brass is a "living" finish – designed so that with normal handling the raised areas wear to reveal the metal underneath, creating a naturally aged appearance not shown on cheaper alternatives. They differ from the standard antique brass as they are also barrel-rolled, to give a pitted effect to the metal and therefore a more rustic appearance.
